Oakley Chapter DAR honored local first place 'American History,' 'The Life of Christopher Columbus,' and 'Good Citizen Essay' contest winners at its annual George Washington Luncheon on Tuesday, Feb. 21, with Registrar Mary Belle White presiding.

"Passing the spirit of patriotism on to succeeding generations is one of the most important priorities of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) organization and we are doing that in Franklin Parish.
