Thriving crops increase land values
The rise in profits in the agricultural production industry has recently paid dividends for much of the region's farming community. But with the prosperity has come a hike in land value, making it more difficult for some local investors to purchase land for farming.
Recently, a company based out of Argentina purchased nearly 8,000 acres along the south end of the parish near the Catahoula Parish line.
