Search for fugitive leads to arrests A man and woman face multiple criminal charges after joint law enforcement efforts to serve an outstanding warrant led officers to them. Gregory Stephens, 41, 700 Hwy. 915 in Sicily Island, was arrested by Franklin Parish Sheriff's Department along with Katina Boone, 29, 165 D.C. Crain Rd., last Tuesday morning after information of Stephens whereabouts brought agents from the U.S. Marshalls Office to Franklin Parish.
Stephens was being pursued by authorities from Catahoula Parish in reference to an outstanding warrant related to drug charges. After information revealed Stephens was currently at the residence of Boone's mother at 165 D.C. Crain Rd., authorities raided the house to find both subjects present.
"After authorities arrived at the residence they discovered Stephens was there, along with Boone," Franklin Parish Sheriff Kevin Cobb said. "There was a great deal of drug paraphernalia there, along with material that was used in distributing drugs. There were also many weapons at the residence."
Along with the charges he faces in Catahoula Parish, Stephens now faces charges in Franklin for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of synthetic marijuana, possession of CDS II with intent to distribute and possession of firearm by a convicted felon.
Boone faces the same charges, along with assisting escape by harboring a fugitive.
Both Stephens and Boone were booked in at the Franklin Parish Detention Center. Stephens is being held on a $45,000 bond, while Boone is being detained on a $50,000 bond.
No other persons were present at the residence at the time of the arrests. |
