|Library to provide free business technology training|
Franklin Parish Library is hosting a series of free technology and soft skill training classes. The classes are especially useful for those seeking employment or who are interested in new career paths as well as people who want to improve their career skill set to earn a higher
standard of living.
The Franklin Parish Library is able to offer these free classes through an $8.8M federal stimulus grant awarded to the State Library of Louisiana by the Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration's (NTIA) Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP), funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The grant supports projects that enhance and expand public computer centers, and encourage sustainable adoption of broadband service.
