Two Winnsboro men have been arrested in connection with a string of burglaries dating back to December, according to officials.

Jeremy Brooks, 24, 1006 Polk Street, Winnsboro, was arrested Wednesday and booked in the Franklin Parish Detention Center on charges of illegal possession of stolen things, simple burglary and theft of a firearm.

Winnsboro Police Chief Lester Thomas said the investigation of burglaries at three residences and a car on the northwest side of the city began in December.

"Our investigation revealed that the suspect was gaining entry into the residences by breaking glasses or going through windows," Thomas said. "Once inside, televisions, DVD players, guns and whatever they could carry were taken from the house or car."
