Tough tasks await Cougars

After victories in two of its three district games last week, one would assume Franklin Academy may be well on its way to a postseason appearance. FA coach Paul Work isn't even contemplating that possibility yet though, knowing the Cougars face two more huge hurdles before they can think about the season after the season.

The Cougars are currently 15-6 on the year, with a 6-3 mark in district play. The top four out of the seven teams in FA's district with qualify for South State. The Cougars are currently ranked third with contests against district power's CENLA and Glenbrook Academy remaining to finish out the regular season. Before taking on the district's top two teams, FA will travel to Rayville to play Riverfield this Thursday.

"We're going to have to play great basketball to sew up a playoff spot," Work said. "Not only are they (CENLA and Glenbrook) the two best teams in our district, but they are going to be the two best teams in the South State tournament."
