ULM President Nick Bruno said his focus over the past year has not only been to promote the strengths of the university, but to also meet the needs of the region. For this region, that need is a crop of students knowledgeable about the agriculture industry.

"Agriculture is one of the largest economic contributors to our area," Bruno said. "Students now need to be more analytical and they need to be able to speak wisely as it relates to commodity trading, crop information and technology that is now being used on our farms."
