Mentoring program expands in Franklin Parish

The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Louisiana is celebrating National Mentoring Month in a big way as the organization expands services to children in Franklin Parish through The Wellspring.

Alannah Jackson, a fourth-grader at Family Community Christian School, is the "Little Sis" of Judge Ann McIntyre who serves as her one to-one mentor. McIntyre meets with her "Little" for one hour during the week in the school-based program.

"I have enjoyed so much being part of this wonderful organization," McIntyre said. "It's a positive experience to serve as a mentor and to have the opportunity to build lifelong relationships."
