Board honors students, elects officers

Sixty-two students were recognized for academic excellence during the regular meeting of the Franklin Parish School Board, and that's something to be proud of, according to Superintendent Lanny Johnson.

Parish students who received one or more Advanced score on the Leap standardized tests administered during the 2010-2011 school year, were introduced by curriculum director DeLayne Donnell and presented a plaque by board president Eddie Ray Bryan.

"These scores are really something to be proud of," said Johnson. "We've come a long way and we're headed in the right direction. We are fourth in the state in growth and these students should be commended for their efforts and hard work."
