Riser talks budget cuts, state economy

Senator Neil Riser was appointed to chairman of the revenue and finance committee on Friday by Gov. Bobby Jindal.

Riser, R-Columbia, is entering the final year of his first term in the state legislature and will be over the committee that oversees revenue collection, taxes and raising of revenues and other fiscal matters of the state.

Riser was a guest speaker at the Winnsboro Lions club last Tuesday and touched on various issues regarding Louisiana's current economic state.
