Mayor: Audit expected Thursday
Results of the city's annual audit are expected Thursday, according to Winnsboro Mayor Jackie Johnson.
The audit, which by law had to be completed by Dec. 31 of last year, is running behind schedule due to the city switching firms last August.
Silas Simmons LLP, a Natchez, Miss., accounting firm, was selected by the city council to conduct the audit after long-time auditors, Marcus, Robinson and Hassell, announced they would no longer be working for the City of Winnsboro.
