Friends, colleagues honor Ellington Family, friends and colleagues of Rep. Noble Ellington gathered at the Old Post Office Museum last week to celebrate the legislative career of the outgoing lawmaker.
A distinguished list of former and current legislative members sang the praises of Ellington – whose career in the state House and Senate spanned nearly a quarter of a century.
The 69-year-old republican announced earlier this year that he would not seek re-election in District 20 of the state House after serving six terms in the legislature. He will be succeeded by outgoing Franklin Parish sheriff Steve Pylant, who will be sworn in on Jan. 9.
The reoccurring compliment from each guest speaker described Ellington as, "a man of his word." According to the guest of honor, this is one the highest forms of acclaim anyone could hope for.
