Runway project grounded
For the second time this year, plans for runway rehabilitation at the Winnsboro Airport have hit some turbulence.
Two consecutive errors in paperwork by Volkert Inc. have caused some city officials to question the efficiency of the New Orleans engineering firm.
The firm was hired by Mayor Jackie Johnson, but so far the partnership
has not been overly productive.
Councilman John "Sonny" Dumas lashed into Volkert representative Bobby Odom at the city council meeting in November, saying, "This is your third chance. You get three strikes and you're out."
