FA picking up momentum The Franklin Academy Cougars have developed solid momentum going into the two-week Christmas break, accumulating a 9-2 record over the first month of the season.
The Cougars went three-for-three on the hard court last week, including an important victory over Claiborne.
After trailing the entire contest, the Cougars rallied for a 42-39 victory over Claiborne last Monday. Cedric Allen led FA with 19 points, but Kalin Howington's eight fourth quarter points proved to be the difference maker.
"It was a big win for us," FA coach Paul Work said. "(Kalin) Howington really sparked our team in the fourth quarter and the entire team decided to put their heads together and play. Anytime you beat Claiborne you have to be excited, but I'm just very proud of the way our guys finished the game."
