Parish officials nix 'exotic' entertainment

A complaint voiced by a visitor at the meeting of the Franklin Parish Police Jury last week surfaced a possible issue of parish property being rented without the knowledge or approval of the jury.

Upset with the manner in which the door locks were changed at the Abe Lincoln Community Center last Friday, Emma Blackshire attended the public forum seeking answers.

Blackshire referred to an action taken by the Police Jury after it received information the parish-owned building was being rented for an event to be held Saturday without the knowledge of the jury. Blackshire and her sister are caretakers of the facility located off Hwy. 4 in Winnsboro.
