|Board receives clean audit; honors students|
After a financial audit of the school district's financial records, an accounting firm has issued an unqualified opinion for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011.
Freddie Smith of Postlewaite and Netterville presented a summary of the audit to members of the Franklin Parish School Board on Monday evening.
"We issued an unqualified opinion for the 2011 audit, which means the school board's financial statements are correct and conform to the rules set by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board," Smith said.
Smith said there were no internal weaknesses found in the board's accounting practices, adding that the district also received a clean opinion for federal compliance.
