School Board to honor academic excellence

Parish students receiving Advanced scores on the iLeap tests administered during the 2010-2011 school year will be recognized during the regular meeting of the Franklin Parish School Board on Monday, Dec. 5.

The iLeap tests are given each spring to students in third, fifth, sixth and seventh grades to measure student performance, but do not determine whether the student will pass or fail the current grade.

Franklin Parish curriculum director DeLayne Donnell sets a goal for the students each year to score Advanced on all four sections of the iLeap test for a $200 cash award.
