Wheelin' hunters hit new record

A banner hunting season opened for 23 wheelin' sportsmen and women on Saturday, Nov. 12, when the group took to the woods at Marsh Farms in East Carroll Parish.

The trip is sponsored annually by the Macon Ridge Gobblers chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF).

The NWTF's Wheelin' Sportsmen outreach program gives people with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, bird-watching and much more.
