Making Winnsboro Industrial Park a Louisiana Economic Development Site could be costly, but would bring needed prosperity to Franklin Parish, according to Tana Trichel, president of the Northeast Louisiana Economic Alliance.

Trichel urged the Winnsboro City Council during Monday's regular meeting to begin certification, which is expected to cost as much as $26,000.

It would be worth it, she said.

"The value of certification for any site is that any company in the world can come to the state Web site and see that the site is shovel ready. They could come and start digging in it," Trichel said.
