Mulhearn lampoons 'Looziana' life in new book

Louisiana is a place that's known for its colorful characters and customs. That's the reason cartoonist Fred Mulhearn might be working with the perfect medium to depict his home.

"We are truly a different state. All states are somewhat different, but our culture is different than other peoples'," Mulhearn said. "It's the reason tourists come here. I think that people from Louisiana will be able to identify with these cartoons."

Mulhearn, a native of Winnsboro whose editorial cartoons appear in newspapers across the state, will be signing "Life in Looziana," his newly published book of cartoons and commentary, at Every Occasion in downtown Winnsboro on Friday.
