Dean assumes position as parish attorney District Attorney John "Mack" Lancaster was at Thursday's regular monthly meeting of the Franklin Parish Police Jury to introduce Winnsboro Attorney Steve Dean, who is replacing David Doughty as the parish's legal counsel.
The introduction was just a formality since Dean, who previously served as the jury's lawyer, was already known by most members.
"Steve did this job years ago, back in the 1980s," Lancaster told the Police Jury. "That's why I feel that he is very qualified to do it again."
David Doughty, a Rayville attorney who ran unsuccessfully against Lancaster in the Oct. 22 district attorney election, was recently asked by Lancaster to resign as an assistant district attorney in the 5th Judicial District Court. For the full story, subscribe to the The Franklin Sun's NEW E-Edition! |
