Mangham hosts White Castle Friday
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Mangham High finished the season unbeaten with an impressive 24-21 win over Class 2A Menard Friday in Alexandria.

"It was a tough game and a great atmosphere with us being ranked high in Class A and them being ranked high in Class 2A," said Mangham coach Tommy Tharp.

The game-winner was a 34-yard field goal in the third period by Benjamin Carter.
?The two teams were tied 14-14 at halftime, and after Carter's field goal, each team traded touchdowns in the final period. Carter's field goal more than atoned for his missed extra-point kick after Mangham's opening touchdown.

Mangham is 10-0, and Menard finished 8-2.
