Community to honor veterans

Franklin Parish will honor those who have served their country in the armed forces with a Veteran's Day program in Winnsboro.

The program is set for 11 a.m. Friday at the VFW Post on Loop Road.

Bishop Marvin Tabora will serve as keynote speaker for the event. Tabora, a native of Honduras who is now a proud U.S. citizen, has a special story to share about what it means to be an American, said Alvin Hatten of the VFW.

"He is a great speaker and has a great love of this country. His message will be an inspiration to other Americans," said Hatten.
