Parish Marines return from Afghan service
by Tom Bonnette - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Fighting a war in a distant land is never easy, but it helps having others from home fighting by your side, say four Franklin Parish U.S. Marine Corps reservists.

The men –Daniel Raley, Hunter Guimbellot, William Bland and Landon Powers— are members of Bravo Company 1st Battalion 23rd Division, an infantry company in Bossier City.

They will be celebrating this Veteran's Day at home after recently returning from months spent in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Raley, Guimbellot and Bland were deployed in Afghanistan from February to September. Powers, who worked with a NATO team training Afghan police, was in theater from January to August.
