Blue Halloween

As I write this column, it's a dark, melancholy Halloween.

I'm not afraid of ghost and goblins, but deadlines are always kind of scary on a night before the Sun prints.

What's really giving me the blues on this black night is something much more terrifying than any apparitions that might me looking over my shoulder as I type—my little girl is growing up.

It was bound to happen, but the kid that used to hold tightly to my hand as we would walk jack-o-lantern illuminated paths in search of candy on All Hallows Eve, is now a teenager.
