Four property tax renewals to fund infrastructure improvements and maintain normal parish operations were approved by Franklin Parish voters on Saturday.

Police Jury President Ricky Campbell was pleased that the people of Franklin Parish saw fit to continue the taxes, which he said are vital to the parish.

"We appreciate that voters came out to support the parish with these tax renewals," he said. "The money will be put to good use and we continue to work to improve things for our residents."

The passing of Proposition No. 1 renewed a 4.07 mills tax for the operation and maintenance of the Franklin Parish Courthouse.
