Longtime educator Marge Arnold dies at age 72 By Dana Treen Special to The Sun
During nearly four decades as an educator, Marge Arnold was fixed on the future.
Mrs. Arnold, who was honored as the 1998 Louisiana High School Teacher of the Year and in 2006 as the state's educator most dedicated to infusing computer learning into the classroom, died Oct. 22. She was 72.
"We still continue to do things that Marge put in place," said Wiley McClary, assistant superintendent of Franklin Parish schools.
McClary said it was Mrs. Arnold's early intuition that brought computers into classrooms as a learning tool.
"She saw it before a lot of people did," he said of the important role they would play in education. For the full story, subscribe to the The Franklin Sun's NEW E-Edition! |
