Polls will be open in Franklin Parish from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday for a slate of state and local elections.

Early voting was strong in the parish, with 1,977 casting ballots at the Franklin Parish Courthouse and 456 absentee ballot requests mailed out, according to Registrar of Voters Geneva Cupp.

As of Tuesday morning, 258 absentee ballots had been received, Cupp said.

"We have a had a great turnout and we are looking for a great turnout, hopefully, on election day," said Cupp.
