Benjamin Franklin once said that only two things are certain in life, death and taxes.

We don't really get to vote on death, but every now and then we get to vote on taxes.

That's when we have to decide if it's worth sending our money to the government for them to spend.

There will be four property tax renewals for Franklin Parish on the Oct. 22 ballot.

You can find a story about the propositions on the front page of this newspaper that explains the taxes and what the parish will do with your money.

I think that the people of Franklin Parish will find these taxes worth renewing.
