Everything is in place for Franklin Medical Center to build its long-anticipated rural health clinic in Crowville, with a construction company chosen for the project at a special-called meeting on Friday.

A $439,000 bid from Allen Atkins, a Winnsboro company, was approved by the hospital's board of commissioners to build the proposed Crowville Health Center.

"The construction committee recently met to discuss which bid should be chosen and they suggested that the Atkins bid should be the one recommended," Kramer told the board before they voted to award the bid.
