FA Lady Cougars capture South State Championship

The Franklin Academy Lady Cougars softball team captured the South State Championship of the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools defeating Hiedelberg Academy by a score of 8-2 in the championship game.

Sarah Haring picked up the win for Franklin allowing only three hits.

Lindy Carroll and Tyler Robinson each had two hits to lead the Lady Cougar attack. Franklin earned a trip to the finals by beating Union Christian School by a score of 3-0. Five Lady Cougars had two hits each to pace the offense for Franklin, Mary Grace Haring, Sarah Haring, Lindy Carroll, Sarah Roberts and Tyler Robinson. Sarah Haring tossed a one-hit shut-out for the win.
