Story Archives: City awarded housing grant

City awarded housing grant
by Tom Bonnette - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
A $195,000 federal grant is paving the way for two housing developments to be built in Winnsboro.
The money will be used to construct an apartment complex, with 48 units, on the Martin Luther King Jr. Extension and a subdivision on Gary Street with 35 houses, said Earl Davis, an economic consultant for the city.

"We feel like this will create an opportunity to provide more quality homes in Winnsboro and will be a stimulant to the economy through the purchase of local products during construction," Davis said.
