on't exactly know what to make of LSU's defense in the second half against West Virginia Saturday.

Of course, that could have been a moot point if Rueben Randle doesn't drop a touchdown pass in his breadbasket that would have put the Tigers up 34-7 on the first drive of the second half.

Sure, LSU was playing a soft defense to prevent the big play, but what was still disturbing was the missed tackles and lack of a pass rush.

I know the missed tackles will be rectified, but John Chavis seemed to get away from blitzing in the second half, which was kind of peculiar.

I loved all the build-up before the game as most folks were talking about it being the loudest ever at Milan Puskar Stadium. Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit were quick to point out that LSU plays in front of that type of night crowd at home.

Herbstreit must have gotten his message across to Associated Press voters as he stated no one has had a tougher September schedule than LSU and been more impressive.
