LSU wins over state, 19-6

f you would have told me beforehand LSU would have nine points going into the final period at Mississippi State Thursday, I would be all set to talk about play-calling.

But by the end of LSU's 19-6 win over State, I was very pleased with the play-calling, even at halftime when it was 6-3 in favor of the Tigers.

State crowded the line and quarterback Jarrett Lee hit some quick passes and a couple of long passes to keep drives alive.

Penalties (9 for 83 yards) were the biggest problem for the Tigers on this night, along with an ankle injury to offensive line stalwart Chris Faulk.

Besides the penalties, the only other real problem I have with the game is Drew Alleman's inability to kick off deep. No doubt Alleman is an outstanding field goal kicker and a great weapon for the Tigers.
