Winnsboro selects city auditor
Silas Simmons LLP, a Natchez, Miss. accounting firm, has been chosen by the Winnsboro City Council to conduct the city's annual audit.
The firm was unanimously approved by the council at Monday night's regular meeting after being recommended by Mayor Jackie Johnson.
The meeting was the fifth time—including the August regular meeting, an adjourned meeting and two special called meetings—that the council met to decide on a new auditor.
