DC Gators chomp Vidalia Vikings, 49-7

Delhi Charter held Vidalia to eight yards in total offense as the Gators dominated Class 3A Vidalia 49-7 in Dee Faircloth Viking Stadium Friday.

"We played a better game," said Delhi Charter coach Brett Raley after his team fell to Loyola Prep in its opener. "We still had a lot of penalties we're trying to eliminate, but we took advantage of our opportunities. It was a big win for us and obviously helps us in the power ratings beating a 3A team."

The Gators sacked Vidalia quarterback Michael Whitley several times as the nimble sophomore finished with minus-36 yards on the night, which included a 44-yard run in the second half.
