Story Archives: School Board adopts millages, budget

School Board adopts millages, budget
by Katie Norwood - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Franklin Parish School Board is set to begin the new school year with a balanced budget, free game passes for employees and a few more students than last year, according to reports presented at its regular meeting.

Early enrollment numbers at parish schools indicate a slight increase in students, as presented by Asst. Superintendent Wiley McClary.

"Unofficially, it looks like we're going to be up this year for the first time in a while," said McClary.

"We lost 24 students last year," said Supt. Lanny Johnson. "And before that, we were losing as many as 100 per year. We should have the official numbers by October."
