Franklin Academy came up just short Friday, falling to Sharkey-Issaquena 48-42 in a District 2A 8-man football contest.

"It was hard to stomach," said Franklin coach Doyle Hassell. "We had two touchdowns called back. We moved the ball, we just needed to score more."

Ethan Vick got Franklin started with a 48-yard scoring run. Ian Black ran in the conversion.
