Cougars defeat Northeast Baptist, 48-6

Franklin Academy scored on six of its eight total plays as the Cougars defeated Northeast Baptist of West Monroe 48-6 in its season-opener.

"We played well on both sides of the ball," said Franklin coach Doyle Hassell. "Our offense was clicking pretty good and we played a lot of kids on defense, giving up 129 yards, with 66 of those coming on one play."

The Cougars put the game away early and the final three quarters were played with a running 8-minute clock.

Chris Hassell, who finished 4-for-4 for 173 yards and three touchdowns, hooked up with Cedric Allen on a 65-yard pass play to start things off for the Cougars. Hassell passed to Cole Dotson on the conversion.

Hassell and Ethan Vick then teamed up on a 41-yard scoring pass play. Hunter Jones ran in the conversion
