City audit delayed Winnsboro is scrambling to find a replacement for long-time auditing firm, Marcus, Robinson and Hassell, following an announcement that the firm would no longer be conducting the city's annual financial audit.
"Our firm has made a choice to scale back on audits and our contract is up. We decided that we would not be putting in a bid for this year's audit," said CPA Doyle Hassell.
Two Monroe accounting firms —William R. Husley Accounting and Luffey, Huffman, Ragsdale and Soignier— are being considered for Winnsboro's financial audit. Winnsboro Mayor Jackie Johnson recommended hiring Luffey, Huffman, Ragsdale and Soignier during Monday's regular meeting, saying he worked with the firm when he was a police juror and they are "available, reasonable and inexpensive."For the full story, subscribe to the The Franklin Sun's NEW E-Edition! |
