Library to provide laptop computers for checkout
While it may be difficult to believe, many people still do not have computers or Internet access in their homes. Beginning Sept. 1, 2011, however, Franklin Parish Library will begin addressing that problem by allowing patrons to check out laptop computers just as they would check out books.
Through the State Library of Louisiana, the Franklin Parish Library is providing these laptop computers to Louisiana citizens through "Louisiana Libraries: Connecting People to Their Potential" project, which is funded by an $8.8 million Broadband USA grant secured by the State Library last year.For the full story, subscribe to the The Franklin Sun's NEW E-Edition! |
