Crazy is as crazy does

There have been a lot of names that have been bandied about concerning the tea party and the part they have played in the debate over raising the national debt ceiling.

They, and those they helped bring to Congress, have recently been called "terrorists" and "hostage takers."

While these monikers have gotten lots of press, the one that detractors most often turn to is simply, "crazy".

The most recent example of trying to portray the tea party as unhinged can be found on this week's cover of Newsweek.

On the cover, an unflattering photograph of Michele Bachman, a tea party favorite who is running for the Republican presidential nomination, appears.

Bachman looks crazy in the picture. No doubt about it.

While many of us have been captured in unflattering pictures, most of will never have those pictures featured on the cover of a national magazine.

Bachman wasn't so lucky.
