Patriots aim for play-offs

The Franklin Parish Patriots continue to tackle the heat during preseason camp.

The Patriots are preparing for the 2011 with a renewed energy and enough returning experience to truly feel good about their prospects of a playoff run in 2011.

"Cautiously I would like to say it is night and day compared to the last couple of years," Franklin Parish head coach Barry Sebren said.

"Last week in practice, everybody knew what to do, the coaches and players, and when you get to that point that everybody is on the same page, then you are in good shape."

To help battle the heat, the coaches give players frequent water breaks and have even cut practice down to under two hours when the heat gets too much to handle.

The shorter practice times have not kept the Patriots from getting some good work done.
