Majors wrap tourney play
The Dixie Majors recently wrapped up their hosting of the Dixie Majors Louisiana state tournament with a 2-2 record and fourth-place finish.
The Winnsboro All-Star Majors consist of local players in the 17-18 year old division.
Winnsboro opened the tournament with a 18-1 win over the Catahoula Parish All-Stars. In the second round, the local team took a 2-1 loss to the Terrebonne Parish All-Star team.
The third round was a big statement game for the Winnsboro All-Stars as they faced off against the Monroe All-Stars and blasted past their regional foe, 12-4.
