Story Archives: Patriots prep for heated play

Patriots prep for heated play
by Cody Futrell - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Franklin Parish Patriots began fall camp on Monday as they prepare for the upcoming football season.

The Patriots will spend the next two weeks going through a five-hour block of work each day.

The team will begin team meetings at 6:30 a.m. and the time also includes a two-hour practice on the field. While some teams opt to have a pair of practices known as "two-a-days," FPHS head coach Barry Sebren does not see the need for that.

"I am not a 'two-a-days' guy," Sebren said. "I think that one good practice is better than two bad ones. We will bring them out and have them for a total of five hours.

We will be on the field for a two-hour practice. It will be a brisk pace. I think if you have them out there too long they start just going through the motions and they lose interest in what you are doing as a team."
