Kid's rodeo in the chute
by Katie Norwood - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Young riders across the parish are preparing for the annual Deep South
Youth Rodeo set this year for Thursday - Saturday, July 28-30, beginning at 7 p.m. nightly.

The youth event kicks off the rodeo season with non-stop entertainment sure to please any rodeo goer.

The annual competition features little cowboys and cowgirls competing in categories such as calf-riding, steer riding, team roping and many more.

The ever-popular Muttin' Bustin' competition is a crowd pleaser as young riders try to make the eight-second buzzer on the back of a wooly sheep.

Riders competing in the youth rodeo are asked to sign up at 5:30 p.m. at the arena on Loop Road; events will begin at 7 p.m.
