Officials to repair exposed gas line

A spokesperson from Atmos Energy said on Monday that the company is working to repair an exposed gas line that was discovered off Riser Road.

The gas line, near Meadow Brook subdivision, was reported to parish officials and Atmos last week.

"We are working to remedy the situation with the state and whoever it takes to get dirt on it. There appears to be a lot of erosion around the line and sometimes that happens without our knowledge," said Ann Hayward, an Atmos spokesperson in the company's Monroe office.
