Fiber artist returns home to exhibit artwork
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
An exhibit of original artwork by Winnsboro native Jane Hartfield will be on display at the Old Post Office Museum, July 14-Sept. 2. Jane is the daughter of retired Winnsboro attorney, Ed Lee.

She grew up in Winnsboro, attending college in Mississippi before making her home in Fort Smith, Ark.

Jane is a lover of all things beautiful and though she has never had formal art training, her skills using a medium of dyed fibers and fabrics are undeniable.

Over the years, Jane has sewn garments, embroidered, knitted, crocheted and quilted.

Now she combines quilting and machine embroidery to turn dyed fabrics and yarns into works of art. The pieces are often embellished with beads, shells and metals to produce original wall-hangings.
