Sebren sees positive future for FPHS

Many things have changed since Barry Sebren began his tenure as football head coach and athletic director at Franklin Parish High School five years ago.

Sebren inherited a once proud program with a winning tradition that fell on hard times before he took over. While the program has a long way yet to go, improvements in almost every aspect can be found.

"When I took the job here and talked to people about Franklin Parish they say the same thing 'they have athletes'," Sebren said. "People automatically think that leads to a good program and it doesn't."

Speaking to The Franklin Sun this week, Sebren reflected on his tenure in Winnsboro and the things off the field that it takes to make a successful, winning tradition in football.

With the full support of the Franklin Parish School Board, Sebren has been able to make marked improvements to Patriot Stadium and the athletic facilities in Winnsboro.
