Lions Club restores hope through eye bank
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Northwest Louisiana Lions Eye Bank located in Shreveport, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to supply donor eye tissue to ophthalmologists for use in restoring eye sight through corneal eye transplant.

This process which is know as corneal transplantation would not be possible without individuals who take the time to donate precious eye tissue upon the death of a loved one.

The eye bank serves two groups of people.

The first being the person who desperately is waiting on a donor cornea. Many are on a lengthy waiting list knowing that technology is readily available to restore their sight, but without a donor, many may continue to wait in darkness.
